Payout Tables |
Here are the "official" LansingPoker.com payout tables for tournaments with various buy-in amounts. Obviously you can change them to suit your own preferences, but they're a great place to start if you're setting up your own game. They cover entry fields of 2-to-51 people. Typically they offer 1 payout spot for every 4-6 players, depending on turnout. The average number of payouts gets steadily larger as the total number of entrants increases. For example: a 12 player tourney has 3 payouts, while a 48 player field has 8. |

| Poker Rules & Etiquette | This is by far the most complete yet concise "handbook" of rules and guidelines for organized poker games (home or public) that I've seen. It encompasses just about everything, yet it stays pretty easy to read as well. If you want answers to poker game questions, this is probably the only reference you'll need. Credit given to HomePokerTourney.com who put it together. | |||||

| Heads-Up Tournament Format | Heads-Up tourneys can be a lot of fun and a nice change of pace, but unless you have a bracket friendly number of players you know will attend (4,8,16 etc.) it can be a headache to put together. Here is a Heads-Up tournament format that makes it easy to handle any number of people who may come to the game. | |||||

| How to Build a Poker Table | I've found a couple sites that give you a breakdown and step-by-step instructions on how to build your own home poker table, but this one seems to offer the most detail. The directions are pretty thorough, but its easy enough to pick out the information you need and skip the rest. Then if you need more help along the way there's plenty there to go back and reference. It's the site I used to do mine. | |||||

Poker odds Calculator |
A great way to get an idea of just how good your hands are in any given situation. Just plug in your cards and any other cards you're aware of and it gives you an instant percentage of what your chance is to win the hand. Can factor in up to 5 players in the hand, plus board cards (if any.) |

| Poker Players Alliance | A special interest group in Washington fighting the good fight for poker players in America. Currently boasted former Senator Alfonse D'Amato as their Chairman. A great site to keep up to speed on any headway in changing laws, especially any chance of changing the anti-internet gaming "ban". | |||||
